Our Teachers

Patty Jenkins ARAD RTS TTPPD (dip) BA

Patty is the Artistic Director of Danz Royal.

With an extensive and wide-ranging ballet education, including some of the most influential teachers from Russia and Cuba, she has performed classical and contemporary ballet as a soloist and group member before live audiences for over 25 years.

She is a graduate (with distinction) of the National Ballet School of Canada’s prestigious ex-professional Teacher Training Program, where she taught classical ballet for several years.

With the Royal Academy of Dance she has attained the highest level of ARAD with Distinction and successfully completed a special project, which introduced the RAD exams for the very first time into Colombia with a 100% success rate.

Patty also holds a Degree in Clinical Psychology, specialising in education, and is a full member of the British Psychological Society.

Lexine

Lexine is our Contemporary Dance teacher, bringing a modern edge to her Thursday evening classes.

She recently introduced the new Stretch and Tricks class, which is proving to be another popular option.

Ruthie

Ruthie teaches the Saturday morning ballet classes in Studio 1 from Pre-Primary up to Grade 1.

Julina

Julina teaches the Wednesday early afternoon ballet classes in Studio 1; Pre-Primary and Primary.

Julia

Julia teaches the Saturday morning ballet classes in Studio 2; the Tiny Tots classes as well as the younger Pre-Primary ones.

Eliza

Eliza assists with the Saturday morning ballet classes in Studio 1 from Pre-Primary up to Grade 1.

She also teaches the younger students in Studio 2 on Saturday mornings when Julia is away.

Seren

Seren teaches the Wednesday afternoon Grade 1 Intro ballet class in Studio 1.

She also assists with the Wednesday early afternoon Pre-Primary ballet class in Studio 1.

Gloria

Gloria assists with the Wednesday late afternoon and early evening ballet classes in Studio 1 from Grade 1 to Grade 3.

She also assists with classes on Saturday mornings when another teacher is absent.

Grace

Grace assists with the Saturday morning ballet classes in Studio 2; the Tiny Tots classes as well as the younger Pre-Primary ones.

Simon

Administrator

Simon’s role in Danz Royal is to take care of ”everything else” to allow the others to do what they do best, which is to teach, choregraph and impart the joy and importance of dance to our many, many students both young and not-so-young.

Simon is the one you’ll find behind all the many emails and occasionally you’ll see him at the studios too (hiding in the office!).
